Erin Royer (Director of UWA JSS)

Erin Royer

Erin is an active educator and performer on the saxophone. Erin completed a Masters of Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester (UK) in 2014 and launched her debut album After the Moment in 2015.

Erin is currently the head of the saxaphone department at UWA and also tutors at a numbr of other tertiary and secondary institutions in Perth. She is a casual member of the Malaysian Philharmonic and Western Australian Symphony Orchestras.

Around Perth Erin can be seen performing as a solo recitalist, and with many ensembles such as The Big Oz Band, The Perth Saxophone Collective and the exciting saxophone quartet, Just Sax, to name a few. Erin aspires to become an internationally renowned performer, promoter and tutor of the saxophone and is determined, as a life goal, to make Perth, Western Australia a sought after place to study saxophone.

Jess Herbert

Jess HerbertPerth born saxophonist Jess has performed nationally and internationally since graduating with a Bachelor of Classical Performance in 2010.

Jess has made a name for herself in the Perth scene as one of the few professional baritone saxophone players and performs regularly with her award-winning band The Perth Cabaret Collective. 

Jess has also played in Nueva Salsa Orchestra, The Oz Big Band, The Big Swing Orchestra and The Aaron Spiers Big Band. She currently works at the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra as the Operations Coordinator and at UWA as the director of the UWA Jazz Ensemble.

Bridget Cleary

Bridget Cleary

Bridget is a Perth based classically trained saxophonist, specialising in soprano and alto saxophone. She has a Bachelor of Music with honours in Classical Saxophone. 

Bridget is an experienced teacher and performer, working with many musicians and well-renowned groups including the Aura Saxophone Quartet, Archer and Light, Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Western Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Perth Saxophone Collective.

Bridget aspires to be an international soloist, inspiring teacher and dedicated researcher.
