Junior Music School will nurture your child's creative potential through the magic of music.

We believe all children are musical. The extent to which musical ability develops, however, depends greatly on the input children receive in very early childhood.

Music Playground

Music Playground

Students begin a journey of musical discovery through singing, moving, playing and creating. There are 3 steps in our Music Playground: Toddlers (18 months to 3 years), Pre-Kindergarten (3-4 years) and Kindergarten (4-5 years).

Students discover and explore essential musical concepts using un-tuned percussion instruments, xylophones and ukuleles. Students also participate in a combined choir. There are two levels: Soundscapes 1 and Soundscapes 2 (both suitable for children aged 5-6 years).

In the next step up form Soundscapes, children will continue to develop skills in reading and writing music. They will develop ability to create their own music based on previous musical knowledge as well as that gained during the semester, and to enjoy many different music styles. Students continue to participate in the combined choir. There are two levels: Soundbrid 1 and Soundbird 2 (for children aged 6-7 years).

In a fun and challenging environment, students continue to develop musical literacy and aural skills introduced in previous classes. Appreciation of the many exciting styles and forms of music are explored. There are three levels: Firebird 1, Firebird 2 and Firebird 3, with each class being a prerequisite for the next (for children ages 8+).

Phoenix participants will be challenged to step out of their comfort zone and into the wider world of music beyond primary school. The Phoenix class will develop skills in improvisation, composition, singing, music literacy and performance, with the aim of making each participant a well-rounded, confident, capable and creative musician.
