We are pleased to announce that online registration is now open for the 'Power of Music' - the 34th National Conference of the Musicological Society of Australia and the 2nd International Conference on Music and Emotion.

*Fees cited are in Australian dollars (AUD), inclusive of 10% GST.

**Delegates from countries with a low or medium HDI (United Nations Human Development Index).

MSA membership

Presenters at the conference are required to be members of the Musicological Society of Australia. Please complete the membership form available on the MSA website.

Cancellation policy

  • A full refund will be made for all cancellations received up until 2 September.
  • A refund less 20% will be made for cancellations between 3 September and 11 November.
  • No refund will be made for cancellations received on or after 12 November.

Program overview

Wednesday 30 November

The conference commences at 6.30pm with Keynote speaker, Professor Nicholas Cook, presenting the Callaway Lecture.

A Welcome Reception for conference delegates and accompanying guests will follow the Callaway Lecture.

Thursday 1 December

 A full day of papers and events.

Friday 2 December

 A full day of papers and events.

Saturday 3 December

 A full day of papers and events.

The conference culminates in the evening with the Conference Dinner.
