Emeritus Professor David E. Tunley AM is an internationally renowned musicologist and composer who joined The University of Western Australia in 1958 as a founding lecturer in music and is noted for his work on French music of the 17th and 18th centuries.

The Tunley Music Scholarship, provided by an anonymous donor and named in his honour, is established to encourage and assist a commencing student to pursue a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) or a Bachelor of Arts degree course with degree specific majors in Music Studies and Specialist Music Studies at the University.

About the Scholarship

  • One scholarship is awarded annually at a value of $10,000 per annum for the duration of the recipient's course
  • Prospective students completing the annual audition for entry into the Conservatorium of Music will be considered for this scholarship
  • The successful candidate will be contacted by the Conservatorium of Music (there is no formal application procedure to be followed)
