These are two simple steps for Australian students who wish to apply for a course offered by the School of Music. International Students should apply through the University's International Student Centre.

Application

Apply through TISC.

Prerequisites:

Music Studies 

• Pass in WACE English or English Literature (or ESL if you are eligible)
• You must pass an audition to be eligible for a Music course. The required standard for Music Studies is AMEB Grade 5 practical or equivalent. A theory background comparable to WACE Music 3A/3B or equivalent (e.g. AMEB Grade 5 theory) is also required. 

Audition

The first round of auditions for 2014 entry will take place on Saturday 28 September 2013. For students who were unable to make this date, an additional day will be held on Friday 29 November 2013. Auditions can be held outside of these dates but will be subject to an additional $20 fee. 

To apply for an audition:

• Download the application form below and return to the School of Music with the fee as soon as possible.
  

• The School of Music will advise you of your audition date and time
• For further information about the audition process and what you need to prepare, please visit our frequently asked questions.
• Applicants for composition must submit a composition portfolio a week prior to their audition.

Although a personal audition is recommended, if you live outside the Perth metropolitan area you may submit a DVD recording of your performance.  Please provide a certified letter stating the authenticity of the recording and include other documentation as specified on the audition form. International Students should apply through the University's International Student Centre.
