July 31 Alan Banks, Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery Classical guitarist Alan Banks performs a collection of his own compositions and contemporary works for classical guitar.
August 7 UWA Wind Quintet & Horn Quartet, Callaway Auditorium These exciting young ensembles present a joint recital of works for wind and brass.
August 14 The Phone Company, Octagon Theatre Graduates Luke Pownall, Keith McGowan, and Adrian Bowen join this saxophone quartet’s debut lunchtime concert.
August 21 UWA String Soloists, Callaway Auditorium Talented young string students from the School of Music present a mix of repertoire for violin, cello, and guitar.
August 28 UWA Composition Students, Octagon Theatre School of Music composition students present a recital of original new compositions.
September 4 UWA Voice Students, Callaway Auditorium Back by popular demand following their semester one lunchtime concert performance, UWA’s vocal department present a new program of Art Song.
September 11 Fiona Coad, Paul Wright, Andrew Rootes & Stewart Smith, Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery Oboist Fiona Coad joins Paul Wright, Andrew Rootes, and Stewart Smith for a stunning baroque recital.
September 18 UWA Orchestra, Winthrop Hall Following the outstanding success of Carmina Burana in early 2008, the UWA Orchestra present Beethoven’s ever-popular Fifth Symphony.
September 25 Winthrop Singers, Winthrop Hall UWA Music’s choir, The Winthrop Singers, present a program of vocal works directed by Dr Nicholas Bannan.
October 2 Ashley Smith, Callaway Auditorium Clarinettist and graduate Ashley Smith returns to WA to present a program of Brahms, Berg and Schumann.
October 16 Defying Gravity, Octagon Theatre Award-winning percussion ensemble, Defying Gravity, present a vibrant programme of works for percussion.
October 23 UWA Prizewinners Concert, Callaway Auditorium A recital showcasing the winners of UWA School of Music’s 2008 performance prizes.
October 30 Clare Tunney & Zen Zeng, Callaway Auditorium Postgraduate student and 2008 John Hind Instrumental Scholarship winner Clare Tunney presents a programme of works for cello and piano.
