The auditorium, studio and practice rooms of the Conservatorium of Music can be hired by staff, students and community organisations.

It is important to note that rooms at the Conservatorium of Music are unavailable for hire during the following time periods:

Semester 1:  16 May to 24 June, 2016

Semester 2:  7 October to 25 November, 2016

To protect the instruments and facilities strict conditions apply and a University staff member must be employed to assist with the event.

The Conservatorium of Music provides a basic service for arts organisations and individuals who do not have access to similar facilities and equipment.

The service includes:

  • venue access and security
  • basic audio equipment in specified rooms but not technical support
  • basic instrument facilities as normally available in the room
  • basic equipment such as whiteboards and small tables
  • staff to assist with basic requirements (compulsory for all bookings).

Piano tuning by the School’s recommended tuner can be arranged as required.

People hiring the School's facilities should familiarise themselves with the School's policy and the University's Venue hire terms. In keeping with our primary role as a University, the security and safety of our instruments and facilities is of paramount concern. The School can insist on changes to the conditions of hire to avoid identified risks.

Health and Safety

The Health and Safety guidelines for venue hirers provides instructions and conditions for equipment use and the evacuation procedures in case of an emergency.
