Callaway/Tunley Chair of Music Appeal

The Sir Frank Callaway Foundation has launched an appeal to raise $3 million to endow the Callaway/Tunley Chair of Music at The University of Western Australia in perpetuity.

These funds will enhance the leadership of one of Australia's finest tertiary music schools and ensure that students will be guided by a distinguished person of international stature, great vision and musical ability.

In a State with a rapidly-growing population due to the resources boom, the need to grow our cultural capital cannot be understated. By attracting high calibre, dynamic artists to lead and teach our students, we will ensure that our cultural community grows to the benefit of all Western Australians.

Professor Jane Davidson

In 2006 the School was fortunate to attract Professor Jane Davidson, a musician of international standing, enormous talent and boundless energy to the Callaway/Tunley Chair of Music using funds raised by the Callaway Foundation.

Professor Davidson has already had an impact on the School of Music, introducing new areas of teaching and research such as music and psychology, and the benefits of music to health and wellbeing.

We now seek to ensure the Callaway/Tunley Chair of Music in perpetuity.
